One of the electronic music’s fantastic qualities is its capacity to deliver both the sound to the after party and to midnight’s big showdown – and sometimes within one and the same record, too. “Love Trumps Fear”, ASA 808’s debut mini-album, is one of those records. The title track is a smooth, sunny rave, while on “Honey On A Razor Blade” a tender beat is throbbing across sugar-subtle soundscapes.

Right away, “Woke” is swaying over to the dancefloor before, all of a sudden, it lies down flat to succumb to the soultronica track “Marine (feat. William James)”. With “Love Trumps Fear”, Berliner-by-choice ASA 808 has delivered a record, that confidently transcends the capital’s sound – and makes you year for more immediately.
