Contributing WriterBorn out of their SONARA studio in Sardinia, co-founders David Mayer, Nico Stojan, and Tooker deliver the two-track EP ‘Say Less’, exploring the complexities of human emotion and communication. Anchored by their commitment to Melodic and Deep House grooves, Mayer, Stojan, and Tooker continue to perfect their craft of building pulsing grooves with distorted synths and bass, infused with tribal percussion. Tooker’s lyrics paint a picture of a man and woman speaking to each other in both admiration and friction. ‘Magnetic’ holds focus on the man’s perspective, performed by Tooker, whilst ‘Electric’ is performed from a woman’s perspective, painting a contrasting picture.
Mayer, Tooker, and Stojan have been players in the industry over the past 15 years, performing at festivals and clubs across the globe. Their sound is fluid and adaptive, influenced by the places they have lived and performed, creating genre-bending, experimental tracks that have landed them on labels such as Crostown Rebels, Connected Frontline, and Gruuv. In 2025, the trio launched SONARA alongside Jay Kurahashi-Sofue to continue collaborating on projects and expanding their sonic world.
