All Day I Dream offers a soft and serene close to a snowy season with A Winter Sampler VII, a 12-track compilation out now. Continuing the label’s tradition of seasonal collections, the latest installment gathers a global cast of artists whose productions capture the reflective calm and subtle warmth that arrives as winter begins to thaw.
The journey opens with ‘Feeling Lonely’ from Rove and Ariaty, an alias of Tim Engelhardt, whose combined rhythmic sensibility sets a progressive tone for the compilation’s opening moments. Rob Davy follows with ‘Run To You’, a gently driving cut that unfolds through sweeping synth lines and patient percussion. Lost Desert and Hermanez join forces on ‘Be As One’ featuring Tasha, pairing fluid movement with a hypnotic vocal presence, while Aldous returns to the series following his appearance on last year’s Summer’s End Sampler with the atmospheric ‘Blue and White’.
Further along, North East England-based producer Strange Malcolm’s ‘Elysian’ unfolds with airy textures and spacious progressions before female DJ Rossie deepens the mood with the underground flow of ‘Asphodel’. Argentina’s Joan Retamero and Greta Meier introduce a brighter, uptempo turn on ‘The Beginning’, which transitions naturally into ‘Azul Infinito’, a driving tech-soaked collaboration from fellow Argentinian pairing Poli Siufi and Gastón Sosa.
The compilation’s closing stretch carries a series of luminous moments. Brazilian producer Diego Druck delivers a fresh interpretation of Double Touch’s 2019 single ‘Baghdad’, originally released as part of the duo’s Adagio EP, reshaping the track with renewed drum patterns and heightened melodies. Buenos Aires-based house act Kalima follows with the snappy cut ‘Wanna See,’ while Tunisian newcomer Different Ray offers shimmering tones with ‘Aurum’.
A special moment arrives in the final track as All Day I Dream label head Lee Burridge makes a rare appearance with ‘Bianco Montana’, a collaboration with disco house duo Sunora (ALAR & Chertkovski) that closes the collection with frost-breaking character and charisma.
With contributions from both familiar names and emerging producers, A Winter Sampler VII once again captures All Day I Dream’s enduring ability to soundtrack moments of reflection and connection between seasons.
