Dirtybird today celebrates its 400th release with a fresh remix of Will Clarke and the late DJ Funk’s 2016 hit ‘Booty Percolatin’’ by Bay Area producers Wet Velvet and TCHiLT, out now.
‘Booty Percolatin’’ is one of those tracks that’s cemented into Dirtybird’s history—a record that fans still celebrate years after its 2016 release and early life as a bootleg spun at Campout in 2015. Its infectious groove, playful energy, and iconic vocal make it a standout in a catalog full of memorable moments.
Carrying that energy into the next generation, Bay Area duo Wet Velvet and TCHiLT reimagine the track with rolling drums, bold low-end drops, and inventive production that pushes the original forward while honoring its spirit. Serving as the label’s 400th release, Wet Velvet and TCHiLT’s ‘Booty Percolatin’’ remix reflects Dirtybird’s ethos of honoring its roots while continuing to evolve. Over the past 21 years, the label has championed distinct voices and community-driven curation, shaping a sound and culture that continues to grow without losing its foundation. By spotlighting two San Francisco-based artists on the rise, this release reinforces Dirtybird’s ongoing commitment to the local scene and the next generation of talent.
Wet Velvet is a Bay Area-based producer whose sound draws from Chicago house and funk, built around driving basslines and a focus on movement. He has released on imprints like Benthouse Records, Holy Molé, and Tech My House and remixed fellow Dirtybird act AMPRS&ND.
TCHiLT is an SF-born and raised producer/DJ, blending funk, hip-hop, and jazz into original sets and remixes. He has appeared on labels like Desert Hearts and Fantastic Voyage, and performed at last year’s Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights.
