The emerging artist took things into his own hands when he decided to work alongside his influencers. Since moving to the renowned music hub of Manchester, the rising talent has seen several labels snap up his productions and now he firmly sets his marker within the Foreign Language Records family featuring remixes from K-Klass and Dylan Forbes.

We wanted to touch base with Josh Hussaney to find out about his latest release ‘Nostalgia’, what influenced this record, and more on his current and future projects.

Josh Hussaney ‘Nostalgia’ on Foreign Language Recordings is available now – previews, stream/download links below.

Hi Josh, Thanks for catching up with us today. What’s currently on the agenda, are you locking in some studio time or are you preparing for your next gig?

Hi no worries, At the moment I’m mainly concentrating on productions and also a remix I’m working on for the lads over at Foreign language recordings.

Are there any particular cities that you look forward to or love playing in? And what can you tell us about your local scene in Manchester?

I’d have to say one of my favourite cities to play at is Leeds, the atmosphere is always spot on.

Are there any upcoming performances or festivals that you are playing at we should keep an eye out for?

At the moment I’m mainly trying to concentrate on the production side of things so nothing penciled in gig wise in the near future for the moment.

What would you say are your current top five tracks that you are playing out at the moment? Do you find that it changes quite fluidly over the course of the year, or are there any releases that really caught your attention?

In all honesty, I’m always on the search for new music so my playlists are always changing if I had to give 5 from my last gig they’d be:

1. Mella Dee – Massimo (Horns Cru Mix) [W&O Street Tracks]

2. Koldar – You Don’t Know Me [Unreleased]

3. Josh Hussaney – Nostalgia (Dylan Forbes Remix) [Foreign Language Recordings]

4. Brame & Hamo – Limewire [Brame & Hamo]

5. Laurent Garnier & Chambray – Feelin’ Good (Radio Slave Revenge Remix) [Rekids]

With previous releases on Nothing But, LW Recordings and Ushuaia Music, how does it feel to release on Foreign Language and how has your latest release ‘Nostalgia’ been received so far? Who is supporting the tracks?

Yes, great I love Foreign Language they do everything right from promotion through to communication with their artists. I’ve worked with them in the past and also headlined a gig for them a few years back.

This latest release features some infectious keys and uplifting vocal samples, where do you get the inspiration to use vocals from? Are there certain lyrics that standout or particular vocalists you lean towards?

To be honest the vocal is the last sound I add into a track so the inspiration or idea comes from the sound I’ve created – just whatever I think will sit nicely within the track!

How does it feel to have K-Klass and Dylan Forbes remixing your tunes? Do you find that you get further inspired by listening to their take on things?

Well, I have been listening to K-Klass for over 20 years so for them to remix my track is a great feeling and Dylans remix is great – both remixes definitely gave me further inspiration.

What can we expect from you in the last quarter? Do you have any forthcoming projects, exciting winter releases or anything else you’d like to mention?

So in the winter, I have something else very special being released through Foreign Language again, and also separate to this, I’m also working on a remix for the label and I have a few other tracks near completion too.

That’s great to hear and we will be keeping our eyes peeled for these upcoming projects of yours. Thanks for chatting with us today, until next time!
