Hey Giovanni, welcome to Music is 4 Lovers! How are you doing today?
Where are you joining us from?
You’ve been in the underground scene for over 20 years now and have played all over Europe. What was the moment you realised that dance music was your calling?
What music or artists have played the biggest role in shaping you as an artist?
Well, it’s really the aforementioned Mennie and Lollino. Mennie is a resident DJ at Tenax Club in Firenze and has taught me so much. Lollino is also from Turin and has been a really influential Dj here in Italy.
I’ve taken a lot of influence from 90s house music on this record, I believe that the 90’s sounds are coming back in a new way, with a real groove
Definitely promotion, the most important part of the label. Labels must be able to offer new sounds in trying to be competitive in the streaming and clubbing market, which is a real challenge.
You also run a club night under the same name. How long has that been running for? Do you find it hard to balance your time as an artist, label boss and running club nights?
Initially, the project started as a club night and then evolved into a record label. Previously there was a much more complex staff, made up of pr and club people, now the project is going to change for music services such as management, record label, mixing and mastering, production assistance and much more. It’s a work in progress. The collaborators in this new project are already there, everything is ready, we are just waiting for the documents for legalization
Thanks to you too, for me, it is an honour. The next project to be released will be the remix of my track done by Ruben Mandolini. I also hope the showcase in Ibiza this summer, let’s hope!
