Detroit based label, Rocksteady Disco, comes movin’ and groovin’ into 2020 with some heavy artillery in the form of Placebo Palace, the new (and possibly debut) EP from Eddie Logix. Now, you may be saying to yourself “Eddie Who??” and that’s not a totally unwarranted reaction, but trust me, after you dig into this disc, you certainly wont forget him.
Here, we have the lead cut, “Que Locos,” which is a stompin’, latin-boogie number with huge horn riffs, loads of percussion and a relentless bass line. The entire EP is stacked with great cuts that channel post-disco vibes, R&B Acid House and tribal sensibilities… a real winner or a release and already a contender for my end of year list (and it’s only freakin’ January!)
