There is no messing with this one and right out of the blocks Distant hits a sweet spot with rugged kicks and swirling, balmy pads. Model then knocks it up a gear with nice dreamy house sounds but one driven by more excellent drum programming. It’s late night house with real soul. Shades rounds out the party with a classy house vibe, running through with streams of glossy synths and powerful drum work. Distant (Oden & Fatzo Remix) then flips the script, layering up razor sharp snares and hats, gritty bass and elastic chords. Rupert Wall then steps up to tackle Model and takes things in a more minimal direction. It’s a classy closer to this great EP.
