Goeran Meyer is a German DJ, producer and the creative force behind the independent MYR, which now serves up an impressive 36th release. His sleek and stylish blend of house and techno always comes with well-crafted and poignant synth melodies and lush drum work that works on both head and heel.
Says Meyer of his latest tune, “‘Restless World’ captures the unease and tension many of us feel in today’s world, while also reminding us of the grounding, connective power music can have — especially within our community. We hope this new piece of music brings you some movement, release and a moment of peace in this restless world.“
The brilliantly seductive track delivers a smooth but driving organic house track with an irresistible groove. The supple drums are layered with subtle textures and a thoughtful breakdown that keeps things danceable while allowing room for emotion and introspection. At the same time, majestic pads and string motifs swirl all around.
Adding even more depth to the release are two powerful vocal edits by label regular and melodic German maestro Mario Navajo and D-LEE, who has also appeared on MYR before. Navajo brings his signature deep and melancholic tones, full of intrigue and mystery. D-LEE contributes a more spoken-word, almost conversational vocal that adds a unique edge. Both versions add a different twist to the original while retaining its cathartic edge.
