Liverpool trio Matrefakt continue to make real moves with a new EP that is super fresh. It features a collaboration with Amsterdam legend San Proper, and is a fantastic mix of sounds.
First up is Dr Gibbons, a deep and languid cut with some nice bendy bass guitar making it all the more lush. Cream then ups the ante with an old school funk feel and lively drums getting you on your toes while San Proper adds his vocals. Mad Hatter then gets more down and dirty with a high speed groove and weird vocals from San Proper next to some freaky guitar licks. Step On Up is a big house cut with acid lines and creeping pads that get you on your toes. Last of all is Liverpool Strut, a more playful and stripped back cut that is sure to bring plenty of energy to the club.
