Ahead of the release of his debut artist album Love Reach, Devon James presents a remix package of the singles so far, from Charlie Soul Clap, GAWP and Schroeds.
Set to land 19 April 2023, Devon James forthcoming album Love Reach is a nine-track narrative of self-discovery told through catchy disco hooks, self-assured indie dance grooves, and swinging house rhythms. Sonically, it synthesizes a decade’s worth of dancefloor elation, global travel, love, heartbreak, and lessons learned into one psychedelic story.
Aheads of its release, James has unleashed a heavy-hitting remix package, with new version of the singles so far from some of house music’s brightest and best.
Best known as one half of the house and disco-loving duo Soul Clap, Charlie is a much-loved figure in electronic music; a sought-after producer and party-starting DJ renowned for his positive outlook and life-affirming sets and productions. True to form, his Loved Up reinterpretation of Love Reach – a phenomenal collab between Devon James and the iconic Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry is brimming with warmth an optimism, with intricate drums and dreamy chords perfectly complimenting Perry’s unmistakable vocal.
As a result of a lifetime in the studio perfecting his craft and being mindful to only put out music of the highest standard, GAWP has already released a string of tracks on Mixmag’s ‘Label Of The Decade’ Dirtybird, alongside a number of highly respected imprints including Toolroom, elrow, Incorrect, In:rotation, Night Bass and Sink or Swim. Here he takes on Risky Business, toughening up the drums and adding warped vocals and a brooding tension for a crisp, techy house workout.
Completing the package is LA-based producer and engineer Schroeds. His remix of Brighter Days is an effervescent broken-beat delight, harnessing the transportive power of Pretty Heavy’s soaring vocal and delivering one of the biggest feel-good anthems you’re likely to hear this year.
