The new disco-house imprint Masterworks Music from Warrington’s Danny Worrall is back with five more cuts for our delectation this week. Following on the heels of Dr. Packer’s debut EP for the label, Italian producer Kiu D is up with his Discotheque offering. He’s been consistently on point with his productions, releasing reworks with sugar-coated samples from disco past on a variety of labels last year, and he shows off his style with some serious party flavors here for Masterworks.

One of the highlights for us is the title track Discotheque. It’s a dirty retro-house anthem pumping over a wicked vocal sample from Brick’s Dazz, followed up by the bouncing funky breaks of Illusion. For Don’t Stop the tempo goes up a little with a blend of fluttering electro-charged bass and disco lasers. Another favorite is First Jazz On The Moon; a bottom-heavy stomp into cosmic jazz, accompanied by a pulsating low-end and fitting vintage vocal sample. Wrapping up the bundle is Loose, a synth laden re-tweak for funk lovers, flipping Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers.
