The tireless Superfreq label is back with more of its forward hitting and sped out cosmic tech house. This one is from Sam Monie who offers a brilliant brace while label head Mr.C adds one of his signature remixes.

Based in Scotland, Sam Monie has done it all from putting on parties to dancing everywhere from the beaches of Goa to the Omen club in Frankfurt, always listening, always learning. He came up listening to the sounds of Mr.C and has since DJ’d and performed live at the famous Superfreq parties in Calais in France, has had a residence at London’s Medicine Bar and Whack parties, and released on the likes of STARKFutures Records as well as this one. He also has his own Ginger Nut Records ready to launch so is flying high right now.

Hold Me opens up with a textural groove that is layered up with chattery claps and snaking acid lines. A sensuous female vocal brings a human touch to the tripped out melodies with big, bunchy bass and smart effects finishing this one in style. Hold Me (Mr.C Remix) is much more filthy. The bassline is utter sleaze as it sprays about the mix with a mind of its own.

Bing Bong then has a killer bassline that is constantly percolating up through the mix. The rising sense of tension sweeps you off your feet next to more wax drum sounds and a marching beat that cannot fail to make an impact in the club.

You can always rely on Superfreq to come through with the goods and that’s exactly what it does here.
