Repopulate Mars continues its hotly-anticipated Repopulate Stars compilation series with ‘Escape Gravity’ this March, featuring twelve tracks from Chapter & Verse, Andre Salmon, Black V Neck & Kratex and more.

Throughout the release, from Kevin Corral’s opener ‘East Coast’, through to Kȯlmē Records founder Lucati’s closing track ‘Generation Revolution’, each track represents the sound of the LA-based label, while staying true to each artists individuality. Contributions from Chapter & Verse, Pleight, Caal & Baum, and G. Felix see the artists manipulate a range of inspired samples from a variety of worldwide flavours into dancefloor-ready tracks, while contributions from Kyle Walker, MANT, Andre Salmon, Cuevas (ES), Albert Garcia, and Jholeyson & Ben Sim look towards more glitchy, heads down territory.

Responsible for hits from John Summit, Michael Bibi, Detlef, Latmun, Solardo, CamelPhat, and label-head Lee Foss, Repopulate Mars has staked its claim as one of modern house music’s staple outlets. Following 2020’s Repopulate Stars ‘Summer Jams’, the label returns with ‘Escape Gravity’, featuring twelve cuts from the wealth of talent that makes up the extended Repopulate Mars family.

A label consistently on the cutting edge of hands-in-the-air house music since 2016, Repopulate Mars once again offers a compilation that sums up where the label is at present, while simultaneously looking directly into its bright future.

Repopulate Stars ‘Escape Gravity’ lands on Repopulate Mars on 26th March.

We caught up with G.Felix recently and had a chat with him about his upcoming release on Repopulate Mars, and what’s happening in his world. Check the interview out below!

Interview with G. Felix:

Hi G. Felix, thanks for taking the time to talk with us at Music Is 4 Lovers today, how are you?

Hello guys, I appreciate the invitation. I’m fine, thanks. I hope you’re all fine as well.

You have a track coming out on the forthcoming Repopulate Mars compilation, ‘Escape Gravity’, could you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind the track?

Yes, this vocal has been part of my life in electronic music, I’ve lived many good moments listening to it. I guessed that it was about time to make my own version, and I’m really glad with the result, I like this ‘’deeper’’ feeling which the music brings, I hope that you, readers, have liked it as much as I have. And being able to sign it in one of the biggest, and my favorite label, it was the highlight of all this inspiration.

Could you share your secrets to music production with us?

Focusing in just one which is not as secret as it looks but its valid to mention, it is: Use more ‘’Reverb’’ in your tracks, use it to make more things like: atmosphere, build´- ups, ‘’glue’’ In your Drums, make your Synths BIG ! Etc.. You´re gonna be surprised about this little tip can bring you this extra secret ingredient to your productions.

How is the dance music scene in Brazil?

(Let´s forget Corona for a while) It’s going well, I see a big evolution in a general way in the electronic music scene in Brazil, I feel that we’re getting more and more into the ‘’World Game’’ . I see that more and more people are into Music and Events. I guess after this “Corona Dark Times’’ We’ll be back stronger , and all the big events that used to happen in Brazil, will come back and there will be a lot of opportunities for the players from all over the world to perform here.

Was there a specific moment in your life that drew you to dance music as a career?

I’ve been living in music my whole life, since i was a child i was surrounded by musicians, due to the activities of my Family. So , this will to follow a career as a musician had always been present, and then when this meeting happened (Me and Dance Music) it was automatic, like EUREKA 😛

With no gigs and DJ sets over the last year, how have you kept yourself busy?

I’ve been producing every time more music, doing things that i didn’t have time to do before, taking some time for sports and physical activities (which were kinda irregular) , and also focused more in na activity that I used to do, which is teaching new talents that i find out around

What’s on the horizon for 2021 and beyond for G. Felix?

First of all, it is the hope that we’re gonna be able to come back to work with safety as soon as possible. I have a lot of new tunes still to be released, several collabs with some of my favorite artists, music signed to good labels and lots and lots of getting my bag and start running around doing what I love, that is making you dance .

I hope to see you all soon, very soon.

Much Love G.
