Italian DJ and producer Francis De Simone recently made his debut on Lee Foss and Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations with a four track EP by the name of ‘London Bass’. Having built a solid back catalogue in recent years, his first Hot Creations release embodies the dynamic sound of the Palermo-born artist, channelling chunky tech house and disco-flavoured melodies. Following the release of ‘London Bass’, we invited Francis to pick out some of his favourite tracks, enjoy!
1. Francis De Simone – Efdies
This is a track that represents me, it was created in a bad time in my life and I took refuge inside the music, trying to create positive vibrations, lightness and happiness.
2. Robin S – Show Me Love
This one is part of my childhood, my father always made me listen to it in the car, I think it is one of the most beautiful tracks ever made.
3. Jamie Jones & Darius Syrossian – Rushing
What about this track, percussion is just amazing; the groove is crazy!!!
4. Nirvana – Smells Like In Teen Spirit
This was my first track that I learned to play with drums… memories…..
5. Roberto Surace – Joys
Roberto is a great person, and a great producer, and with Joys he shows all his talent.
6. Chiqito – Phantom Of The Opera
The right combination of electronic music and classical music, AMAZING!!
7. Bass Ibellini – That’s Right
I found this track from a dj set of The Martinez Brothers and I fell in love with it right away, recalls a very underground sound. Simple basslines, simple groove, have made this track for me a masterpiece.
8. Djaimin – Open The Door (DJ Shorty’s Zanzibar Stomper Mix)
This track is simply BRILLIANT.
9. Kerri Chandler – Atmospheric Beats
Another track that was transmitted to me by my father. Kerri I think is a god of house music, this track excites me in a special way. I love it!
10. Tony Esposito – Kalimba De Luna
Tony Esposito….. a great Neapolitan percussionist!!! With it I’m back to my origin.
