Not long after the original package did such damage, Be An Ape are now back with three brilliant remixes of Un Pasito by Fran Bortolossi & Caio Busetti.
The original still sounds super fresh – it’s a contemporary bit of house music with neon chords and lots of lush details. An instrumental is also included that removes the Portuguese vocals and allows the drums to take centre stage. And so to the remixes – Kolombo works things into a stripped back and supple minimal groove that really gets under your skin and has crunchy claps and slick sine waves, while label boss Ante Perry offers something more upbeat and vibe. It is house music with real heart and soul and rounds out a top EP.
