We caught up with the Swiss duo to find out more…
Hi Vanto & Mancuso and a very warm welcome to Music Is 4 Lovers! First things first, please can you introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello everyone! We are Patrick Vanto and Daniele Mancuso, two electronic music lovers and two friends sharing a passion for music. Three years ago, we started our new project called Vanto & Mancuso, to underline our connection, using our surnames as our stage name.
Where are you each based and what’s the situation like there now?
Actually, we are in Switzerland, more precisely in Zurich, one of the most important cities of the country. We live here, working and playing some music.
How would you best describe your style for those that don’t know your music?
We always try to reach new sounds and go beyond our limits to explore new fields. We have different influences that depend on our feelings and emotions, so our sound is dynamic and fluid.
How did you guys meet and when did you start producing together?
It all started in 2016 when we met in a Music studio. From that moment we immediately understood that we think in the same way, both in production and DJ sets. This project led us until today, working non-stop on our music devotion.
Can you tell us when you both fell in love with electronic music? Was there a particular moment?
Music is a big passion, we met it when we were children and that flame never stops. We shared our most important memories with music, it’s the best friend that understand what’s going on and it has always an answer for every situation.
We’re loving your new single ‘Heart & Mind’. Can you talk us through the inspiration behind the single and the creative process?
The idea was born during a summer evening in Italy in front of the majestic sea, which, you know, takes care of your thoughts. We were inspired by the waves, sometimes strong and sometimes very calm, so Heart & Mind came out almost naturally.
How did the introduction to PinkStar Black come about? Is this your first release on the label?
Through a friend of us we came aware of PinkStar Black. After a meeting we decided to collaborate and our fourth track, the last one, under this label is Soar that was released on July 16.
We’re approaching the end of 2021. What have been some of your highlights of the year?
The pandemic was a bad luck for all of us. That’s the reason why we don’t know where this final shot of this weird year will lead us. We hope that we can come back on stage and let the music cheers us up. We are very optimistic, so we trust that this will happen soon.
What else do you have coming up over the next few months?
Pandemic didn’t just bring misfortune. Indeed, we spent a lot of time in studio during the lockdown, so we produced so much, and we are ready to give our listeners some new good music. So, follow us for more!
