The Mandinka vocals provided by Senegalese singer Marietou Kouyate are pristine, and bad tuner matches up the positive messaging perfectly with the the infectious melody that he pairs with it.
The last year has been absolutely isolating and this song is about the need for human connection.

After a long year of trying to stay positive and beat the lockdown isolation, ‘Relationship Is’ demonstrates to us that artists like bad tuner cannot be deterred, they keep creating and find beauty and joy in the darkest of times. The track is confident and optimistic, and is the next stepping stone towards bad tuner’s debut EP, which will be released on August 20 – I can think of no better way to ring in the last few weeks of summer.
bad tuner has already created remixes for the likes of TOKiMONSTA and Two Another, had releases on Kitsuné and Young Art Records, and performed alongside A-Trak, Nosaj Thing, Bon Entendeur and Catching Flies.
