An outlet founded originally to release his own productions across the house and techno sphere, Butane’s home imprint Extrasketch welcomed longtime friend Andras Toth as the first guest collaborator on the label earlier this year before then welcoming regular production partner Riko Forinson as the duo revealed a selection of darker collaborative club cuts in the form of ‘Equilibrium’.

Following the project’s release, we asked Riko to take us through the release track-by-track as he details the latest addition to the pairing’s growing collaborative discography.

Butane, Riko Forinson – The Sad Song [Extrasketch]
“Very emotional with flourishing evolutions that feel like something magical.”

Butane, Riko Forinson – Riffraff [Extrasketch]
“This one is very melodic and is the result of inspiration from the Berlin underground scene.”

Butane, Riko Forinson – Primadonna [Extrasketch]
“This one contains a fascinating mix of analog sounds which in turn gave birth to ‘Primadonna’, I feel like we found a great connection on this one.”

Butane, Riko Forinson – Get Into My Groove [Extrasketch]
“This track is almost the pillar of the project and is fundamental as it contains all the nuances of Equilibrium.”

Butane, Riko Forinson – Anxiety [Extrasketch]
“‘Anxiety’ strips things back to focus on delicate melodies, hazy atmospheres, and offers some somber psychedelic reflection”

Butane, Riko Forinson – All In My Head [Extrasketch]
“‘All In My Head’ features Butane’s trademark vocals, and the musical base and core of the track here is very underground.”

Butane, Riko Forinson – Tripping [Extrasketch]
“I think this one represents the Butane and Riko way of thinking.”

Butane, Riko Forinson – Inside [Extrasketch]
“‘Inside’ is the final part of ‘Equilibrium’ and combines a number of emotional aspects across this wonderful project.”
