Since her 2020 debut, LA-Based Choopise has been on an upward trajectory, steadily carving a reputation as a standout force in the West Coast underground. Her unique approach to sound design – richly textured and groove-driven sonics, and knack for juxtaposing ambient elements with driving bass-lines, have seen her co-signed by Disclosure, and released on Shall Not Fade, Dirtybird and Silver Bear Recordings.

On Drift, Choopsie adds another milestone, joining the roster of the boundary-pushing HE.SHE.THEY . Records, a label celebrated for its inclusive ethos and forward-thinking curation. Across the EP’s four tracks and their respective edits, Choopsie takes listeners on an exploration of sound and emotion, encapsulating the joy and transcendence of the dance-floor and invites listeners to immerse themselves in her intricately crafted musical world.

Choopsie says:

“Creating Drift was inspired by the feelings of escaping reality through music. This EP encapsulates the feeling of floating away, whether in the euphoric atmosphere of a club or getting lost in sound at home. I drew inspiration from the genres I love—house, trance, techno, UKG, and breakbeats—crafting tracks that balance energetic dance moments with introspective listening experiences.”

Blending elements of house, trance, techno, UK garage, and breakbeats, Drift showcases Choopsie’s ability to traverse genres with finesse, creating tracks that are as texturally rich as they are rhythmically intriguing. Title track ‘Drift’ is a fast-moving house track infused with trance elements, made for the dancefloor and inspired by the feelings of drifting away, while ‘Melt’ blends house and techno with ambient pad, chopped-up vocals, and deep bass.
