Leading UK label Toolroom hit a significant milestone with the 500th episode of their revered radio show this week. To celebrate this achievement – and another year to remember – they invited their fans to take part in a one-of-a-kind party in their hometown of Maidstone.

Toolroom is more than a record label; it’s a family: a family of like-minded artists, fans and staff with a shared passion for quality music and off-the-scale parties. Priding themselves on being one of the most approachable global brands in the business, Toolroom have spent the last 16 years breaking down the barriers between fans, artists and those involved behind the scenes, resulting in a real sense of community.

Go to a Toolroom event anywhere in the world and it’s immediately apparent just how strong this bond is, with fans being made to feel part of the extended family, and artists having direct relationships with those that have been with them from the beginning, making for an atmosphere unlike any other.

With the 500th episode of their radio show broadcast this weekend, Toolroom marked the show with a unique event. Held in a traditional boozer in the label’s hometown of Maidstone, fans were invited to take part in a pub quiz, testing their knowledge of all things Toolroom and electronic music against label artists Mark Knight, Leftwing : Kody, Martin Ikin, Illyus & Barrientos, Wheats, Siege and Maxinne, before being treated to intimate DJ sets.

The event was a fitting way to celebrate not only the radio show, but what has been an exceptional year for Toolroom, with their residency in Ibiza, US tour, packed out events at Studio 338, not to mention a release schedule that has involved some of the most enduring records of the year.

Broadcast on 121 radio stations across 59 countries, the Toolroom radio show is hosted by Mark Knight and champions the best upfront house and techno. Guests include both rising stars and bonafide legends of the scene, with Carl Cox, Oliver Dollar, Solardo, Roger Sanchez, Hannah Wants, Uto Karem, Josh Butler and many more all having provided mixes for the show. With over 250k subscribers and around 15 millions listeners every week, the Toolroom radio show is one of the biggest dance shows on the planet.

“I’ve always felt the radio show is an extension of what we do at the label. Through the radio shows we’ve been able to provide a platform for new artists to have their music heard. We are a family at Toolroom, and this has always been important to us, the family ethos resonates through everything that we do, and hopefully this also comes through loud and clear on the radio shows.” Mark Knight
