With releases on the likes of Strictly Rhythm, Cajual, Play It Down and his very own ‘I’m A House Gangster’ imprint to name just a few, DJ Sneak’s position and standing as one of House music’s most influential figures of recent decades is virtually undeniable. Following material on the likes of Hot Creations, Robsoul and Mr. Nice Guy in 2018 alone, here we see Sneak alongside regular collaborator Tripmastaz and fellow US producer Blakkat to deliver two fresh productions packed full of groove, whilst label founder Pirate Copy drops a tempo- raising remix on the flip.
Combining with Russia’s Tripmastaz, ‘Hustin’ For House’ opens proceedings in resounding fashion, with a series of intricate percussion patterns, bumping sub bass and a snaking groove line merging fluently to reveal a drum driven work out, typical of the Puerto Rican / US producer and DJs style and output.
Next up, Sneak & Blakkat’s ‘Guttah Bucket’ takes things a little deeper, as rich chords and skipping hats combine with swirling synths and infectious vocal hooks, before Pirate Copy’s remix of ‘Hustlin’ For House’ rounds out the proceedings, raising the tempo and utilizing suspenseful builds and crisp snares to close out the package.
