Toronto-born, Bali-based DJ and producer Brodie Nero launches his new label Kontras Records with 1%, a red hot new collaboration with MANU BS.
With more than 15 years in electronic music, Brodie Nero has released on labels like Hugel’s trendsetting Make The Girls Dance and Wired, where he recently went #1 on Beatport with “So Many Lies”, but now branches out with Kontras Records as a new platform for his own music and wider creative output. MANU BS brings plenty of experience rooted in Tribal, house and global cultural influences, with recent releases on Make The Girls Dance, Union Records and Sunset Gathering. His work includes a viral remix for Dystinct that has passed 40 million views across social media.
This brilliant debut track, 1%, is a chunky mid-tempo house cut built around elastic rhythms, organic percussion and layered vocals, with sharp fills, fresh synths and carefully placed details helping to build tension across the track. It’s got real warmth and plenty of swagger so is sure to make an instant impact.
The release marks the fantastic first chapter for Kontras Records, with plenty more to come.
