New York City-based artist Gan debuts on Adesso Music this October with ‘Too Deep To Sleep’, a three-track EP that finds the rising producer exploring the hypnotic, groove-led sound that has become his calling card. A regular on HUGEL’s Make The Girls Dance imprint, Gan draws on his hometown energy and French-Latin heritage, a distinctive blend that has earned him millions of streams.
1. Huge congratulations on your debut with Adesso Music! How does it feel to land a three-track release on a label curated by a house music legend like Junior Jack?
Thank you! It’s a huge milestone for me. Junior Jack has been such a driving force in house music history, so having his validation and joining the Adesso family with a three-track EP feels incredible. It gave me total freedom to showcase different sides of my sound, from hypnotic grooves to peak-time club weapons.
2. With millions of streams already under your belt, what has been the most surreal moment for you so far regarding seeing your music connect with a global audience?
The most surreal moment was testing out unreleased tracks during my sets in New York and seeing people who didn’t even know the IDs instantly react to the energy. Then, receiving videos from DJs playing them halfway across the world in Europe or Latin America and hearing the crowd sing along to the hooks—that’s when you realise music truly knows no borders.
3. NYC has such a rich history of house music. Who are some local figures or venues that shaped your musical education growing up in the city?
NYC’s club culture is unmatched. Playing and experiencing nights at iconic venues like GOSPËL, Public Hotel, Ketchy Shuby, or Somewhere Nowhere really shaped my understanding of crowd dynamics and atmosphere. New York teaches you that a great track isn’t just about sound—it’s about how it makes a room feel.
4. You have established a strong presence as a regular on HUGEL’S Make The Girls Dance imprint. How has your experience working with them refined your sound?
Working closely with HUGEL and the Make The Girls Dance team taught me to be efficient and impactful in production. It really refined my ability to blend driving basslines with catchy, high-energy hooks that keep the dancefloor moving without overcomplicating the arrangement.
5. How do you keep your signature sonic identity intact across different labels?
It all comes down to the core elements: a solid, groove-driven bassline, hypnotic rhythm sections, and a touch of my French-Latin heritage. Whether I’m producing for Adesso, Make The Girls Dance, or any other label, those foundational elements remain the spine of every track I make.
6. How has your approach to DJing influenced your production style? Do you test unreleased tracks out in the NYC club circuit to see how crowds respond before finishing them?
100%. DJing is my ultimate testing ground. When I play out in NYC, I pay close attention to how the crowd moves during the breakdowns and drops. If a section loses momentum on the floor, I go back to the studio the next day and tweak it. We refined every track on this EP after live club testing.
7. With the EP officially dropping on October 16th, 2026, where can we expect to see you playing these tracks out live?
I’ll be road-testing extended mixes across my upcoming dates in New York, including GOSPËL, Paul’s Baby Grand, and Somewhere Nowhere, as well as European dates later this season, like Loft Lounge. Expect plenty of IDs and fresh edits!
8. What’s next for Gan as we head into 2027?
Lots more music in the pipeline! We’re closing out 2026 with some big collaborations, expanding our playlist curation (Clubbers Worldwide and Afro House Focus), and preparing a series of international dates for early 2027. The momentum is just getting started.
