Namibian producer, DJ and songwriter Gina Jeanz returns with her latest single, ‘Ride’, arriving 3rd July via Temper Tone. Blending deep tribal percussion with hypnotic Afro House grooves and breezy Balearic textures, the track is an invitation to surrender to the rhythm.

Built around rolling organic drums, ‘Ride’ showcases Gina’s distinctive ability to fuse African-rooted rhythms with contemporary electronic production. The single continues Gina’s exploration of organic electronic music inspired by the sounds of the African diaspora. The track captures a feeling of movement and freedom, unfolding patiently through layered percussion, subtle textures and an immersive groove.

“‘Ride’ is about letting go and allowing the music to take over,” says Gina. “I wanted to create something that feels grounding but liberating at the same time – a record that connects people through rhythm while carrying that feeling of warmth, openness and escape.”

The release marks another exciting chapter for one of Africa’s most compelling electronic artists. Trained in classical music before spending twelve years immersed in Cape Town’s vibrant music scene, Gina has developed a sound that moves effortlessly between Electronica, Afro House and Afro Tech while remaining unmistakably her own.

Adding to an exciting run of new music, Gina will premiere a live set filmed from a hot air balloon over the Swiss Alps on 8th July. Originally envisioned above the landscapes of her native Namibia, the project took an unexpected turn after Gina reconnected with a pilot she’d met during her first ever balloon flight back home, who had since relocated to Europe. Through a chance introduction, the collaboration ultimately came together in Switzerland, where Gina now lives. Soundtracking the early morning ascent with a carefully curated set that gradually unfolds alongside the changing landscape, the performance mirrors the themes at the heart of ‘Ride’ – embracing stillness, trusting the journey and allowing the moment to guide the music.

Her independent debut album Lucid Theory earned international recognition in 2021, with the track ‘100ml’ landing on Billboard’s Best New Dance Tracks. Since then, Gina has performed at some of the world’s most respected festivals and venues, including Caprices Festival, UNUM, Montreux Jazz Festival, Amnesia Ibiza, KOKO Electronic, Afropunk and Rocking the Daisies. Her music has been championed by Beatport, DJ Mag, Resident Advisor, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Soulection, Rinse FM, Earmilk and Notion, among many others.

Beyond the booth and the studio, Gina remains passionate about creating opportunities for the next generation of African artists, particularly women entering electronic music. As she continues to represent Namibia on the global stage, she is carving out a distinctive lane through thoughtful productions, emotionally rich DJ sets and an unwavering commitment to pushing Afro House into exciting new territory.

With its infectious groove, organic percussion and blissful Balearic glow, ‘Ride’ is another statement release from an artist redefining the global sound of Afro House.
