Hey NOVEMBER KID, great to meet you! How’s everything for you right now going into summer?

Thank you! It’s been an incredible few months. I’ve been spending most of my time in the studio while also seeing the audience grow much faster than I ever expected. This summer feels like the beginning of something really exciting, and I’m grateful for everyone who has been supporting the music.

I have to ask, why the name “November Kid”? Is there a story behind it?

There is. I was born in November, but the name means more than just a birth month. November has always felt reflective and emotional to me. It represents change, nostalgia and new beginnings. When I started this project, I wanted a name that felt honest and timeless, and “NOVEMBER KID” captured exactly that feeling.

If someone had never heard your music before, which track would you tell them to start with, and why?

I’d probably say “You’re The Only Place I Need.” It represents everything I want NOVEMBER KID to sound like emotional, melodic and uplifting. It combines intimate songwriting with electronic production in a way that feels very true to me.

Your music feels very cinematic. Do songs usually start with a lyric, a melody, or a feeling?

Almost always with a feeling. I usually have an emotion or atmosphere in mind before I even touch an instrument. Then I start building chords and melodies around that emotion until it feels like I’m telling a story without words. Lyrics often come later.

What’s something you’ve learned recently about being an independent (or emerging) artist that nobody warns you about?

That making great music is only half the job. Today you also have to build a community, tell your story, create content and keep showing up every single day. It can be overwhelming, but I’ve learned that genuine connection with listeners is just as important as the music itself.

What’s the best piece of advice another artist has given you?

“Don’t chase trends chase timeless emotions.”That stayed with me because trends disappear quickly, but songs that make people feel something can last forever.

When you’re not making music, what helps you recharge creatively?

I’m lucky to live in the middle of the Vienna Woods, so nature is always close by. Spending time outdoors with my family helps me slow down, clear my head and recharge. Some of my best ideas actually come during a walk through the forest rather than in the studio.

What’s the most memorable show/city you’ve played so far in your career?

I haven’t played a show as NOVEMBER KID yet, but we’re currently preparing for the first ones. It’s something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time, and I can’t wait to finally share these songs with people in person.

You’ve recently just released “You’re The Only Place I Need” which has already had well over a million streams in less than a month – how does massive streaming success like that feel like?

It’s honestly surreal. As an artist you always hope your music will find people, but you never expect numbers like that. More than the streams themselves, it’s the messages from listeners telling me the song became part of their lives—that’s what means the most to me.

What was the inspiration behind the track?

The song is about finding home in a person rather than a place. No matter where life takes you, there can be someone who makes everything feel familiar and safe. That’s an emotion I think a lot of people can relate to.

What’s coming up for you over the next few months that you would like to share?

There’s a lot in the works. I’m finishing new music, preparing for my first shows and continuing to build the NOVEMBER KID project one release at a time. I’m really excited for what’s coming next.
