Colombian-born, US-based DJ and producer ICE THOMPSON links with fellow Medellín artist Jose M on “Say Hey”, a stripped-back club cut that flips a classic ODB and Kelis vocal into something deeper, tougher and built squarely for late-night floors.

Driven by a rolling low end and tight, tech-led percussion, “Say Hey” keeps things functional without losing character. The familiar vocal hook is chopped and reworked into the groove rather than sitting on top of it, giving the track a looser, more hypnotic feel that leans into tension and repetition over obvious pay-off moments. There is a clear nod to early 2000s hip-hop energy running through it, but the framework is rooted firmly in contemporary house music.

For ICE THOMPSON, the release adds another chapter to a career that has stretched across more than a decade. A key figure in Medellín’s electronic scene, he has built an international reputation through releases on labels including Stereo Productions, Roush and Hottrax, alongside appearances everywhere from Ibiza and Space Miami to Berlin’s underground circuit. Along the way, his productions have earned support from names including Jamie Jones, Hernán Cattáneo, Green Velvet and John Digweed.

“Say Hey” taps into that same club-focused mindset. Direct, punchy and unfussy, it feels designed for packed rooms and long sets, where a recognisable vocal and a locked-in rhythm can still do serious damage.
