European ‘Rominimal’ favourite Sepp brings intense deep house heat via Volumo Direct

The three-track EP is aimed squarely at the floor but is big on heart and soul

Sepp is a cult DJ and producer who has long been a favourite at minimal festivals like Sunwaves in his homeland of Romania. His stripped-back sound is rooted in human emotion and revels in the details of its design. It has come in LP and EP form on labels like Rawax, Berg Audio and LOK Records, and he also co-owns the respected UVAR.

This stylish new EP opens up with the fantastic ‘Tell Me Somethen’, a peak-time tech house track with rolling, luminous kicks and sultry vocals adding human warmth to the molten synths. ‘You Gotta Know’ picks up the pace and strips things back to a more sleek and minimal house sound. Hi-hats keep time while passionate female words and swirling pads all add pressure to this deep and driving house sound. Last but not least, ‘Free And Wild’ is a chunky sound with more vast kicks. This time, the elastic bassline keeps things funky next to muted chords and expressive vocals that will ignite any party.
