Salt Lake City-based producer Alexis Nikki is making serious waves with her genre-fluid approach to production. Having transformed from dubstep architect (under her former Kleøpatra moniker) to house music trailblazer, she kicks off 2025 with “Can’t Get Enough,” a track that seamlessly blends tech house, bass house, and melodic elements. Following her debut EP “All Eyes On Me,” this latest offering showcases her masterful approach to sound design, featuring pulsating basslines and infectious vocal hooks that create an irresistible dancefloor atmosphere.
We caught up with Alexis to discuss her creative process, musical influences, and what sets her apart in the ever-evolving electronic landscape.
What music do you listen to aside from dance music?
I listen to a lot of alternative music actually.
What is your favorite subgenre of house music to make?
Slap house.
How long does it take you to make a track from start to finish?
About 4 hours, give or take.
What is your favorite city to perform in?
Atlanta and Miami have been my favorite places to perform in so far! The crowds are always high energy and amazing vibes.
How did you go about developing your own signature production sound?
It was a lot of trial and error. I took sounds I made when I was producing dubstep and just tweaked them until I got the desired outcome that I thought might sound good with house.
What differentiates you from other house artists?
I’d like to think just my sound in general. It’s kind of a mix of melodic, tech, and bass house combined.
What is the ideal song BPM?
124 BPM. Not too low and not too high.
With more releases planned throughout 2025, Alexis Nikki continues to push the limits of her production capabilities. Her journey from dominating the subsonic depths of bass music to redefining house music’s next wave demonstrates her versatility and commitment to sonic evolution. As she shapes her future—one bassline at a time—she remains one of dance music’s most exciting emerging talents.
