In the music industry, few journeys unfold with as much versatility and passion as that of Rialda, a multifaceted artist who has seamlessly navigated genres, from Balkan rhythms to her recent dive into house music with latest single “Found The Way” (Sada najbolja). This year has marked a transformative chapter in her life, as she embraced motherhood and continued to evolve her career on multiple fronts.
With a diverse background spanning music, television, and entrepreneurial ventures, Rialda brings a fresh perspective to the stage, shaped by years in the industry and a deep-rooted love for performance. In this interview, she opens up about her musical roots, her creative collaborations, and what fans can look forward to as she gears up for her first album release.
Hi Rialda! Thanks for speaking with us. How are you?
Thank you for having me. I’m great! Thanks for asking.
How has your year been? What have been the highlights?
Well this year has been the most transformative for me for sure. Been working on new music, performing by the middle of this year and in May I took a break from the stage because I became a Mom. So far it’s busy in all areas of my life.
Tell us about your musical journey? How did you come to find your niche?
I’ve been in the music industry for a long time but in different genres. Mostly I was focused on Balkan music and that part of the audience. This is actually my first experience with house music. For this particular genre switch are my team Christoph Truecher & Florian Schreyvogl to blame and mostly my husband. He’s the one who gathered all of us in the first place.
How did you come to link up with EB music? What’s the story there?
When the songs were done we were talking about the label to release the singles but as the time went by we all agreed that the best way is to release it on our own label, actually my husband’s label. He is in show business for so long through marketing, event organization and this was the logical step to do.
What is the scene like in Bosnia? Has it changed much from when you were younger?
I think that the music scene in Bosnia is at the top of the game at the moment. There are so many different artists and you can actually feel freedom and art in the music making. When I was starting It was more limiting and I was kind of bored. Now is the best time to experiment with different styles.
Tell us about your other career paths? How did you get into television?
I always say that I’m in the show business industry and that includes music (in the first place) but also today music isn’t enough. You have to be an actor, be in the media, be an influencer, entrepreneur and so on. My main focus is music but through the years I have been on different projects and I really love that balance in my career because I have a chance to express my personality in different areas.
Who have been your biggest musical inspirations?
Through the years my inspiration has changed. I grew up on r’n’b and I still love that vibe.
I think that is the reason why I love vocals in house music. As a little girl I was doing remakes of Destiny’s Child music videos and J.Lo was really huge for me at that time but I always knew that I wanted to become an authentic artist and performer, to leave my own mark.
What do you like to do to relax outside of music and television?
I’m a workaholic so I don’t have that much time for hobbies but I like a good movie night, like to keep my body fit and healthy, love traveling or reading a good book about improvement in any area of my life.
What has been your favourite gig to play?
Oh there were so many, I really can’t choose just one but I enjoy it the most when I have a chance to perform on the big stage.
What are your plans for the winter and what have you got in store for your fans moving forward?
These last two months I’m gonna be locked in the studio and in the gym because I’m preparing my first album and I’m planning to release it next year, so I have a lot of work to do. I really can’t wait to go back on stage and share new music with my audience.
