Life is great, we just dropped our new album and are super excited for everyone to hear it.
Tell us about the new album, ‘A Life Worth Living’
‘A Life Worth Living’, is an electronic Afro-House masterpiece exploring themes of love, self discovery and African rhythms fused with modern electronic music . Featured collaborations include Zolani, Zakes, Bantwini, Zama Jobe and Bongeziwe Mabandla to mention a few. It showcases our signature sound infused with deep melodies .
You both hail from Durban in South Africa; what’s the dance music scene like over there?
Durban’s dance music scene is vibrant and diverse, reflecting the city’s culture. It’s a unique blend of urban and traditional sound atmosphere. The most popular genres are Gqom and Afro House music by looking at the scene.
What’s it been like to build a music career as a duo?
Building a music career as a duo offers a unique blend of shared creativity, emotional support and divided workload; however, there are also challenges such as creative differences and scheduling complexities.
Could you talk us through the production process on this record?
We created these songs with South African iconic writers and artists, most of the songs are vocally lead, then we recreate around it like how we would approach remixes.
As pioneers of the Afro-House movement, what inspired your early work?
Our early work as pioneers of the Afro-House movement was inspired by rich cultural heritage of African rhythms and electronic House music. As a duo, our creative process always compliments each other. so it becomes easier for us to exchange ideas and work towards creating a fresh sound.
As we approach 2025, do you have anything planned you can share with us?
We are planning on releasing more music such as EPs/remixes and embarking on a world tour.
