Berlin-based DJ, producer and label founder Andre Zimmer returns with Swamp Circuit, a four-track EP marking his debut on UK imprint Craigie Knowes, out the 20th February on digital and vinyl.
Swamp Circuit builds on a strong start to 2026 for the Toronto-born artist, following ‘Simpli-City’, which featured on DJ Tennis’ recent fabric presents compilation – his third contribution to the series. The EP also comes amid a huge twelve months that included the release of the vinyl-only Bountiful EP on his own Big Trouble label (earning support from Peggy Gou, Massimiliano Pagliara, JenniferLoveless, Jorkes, Moxie and Alinka) and standout cut ‘Invisible Sandwich’ (featured in Job Jobse’s RA Mix of the Day), firmly establishing Zimmer’s ability to balance dancefloor immediacy with left-of-centre groove.
For his Craigie Knowes debut, Zimmer draws from a wide spectrum of influences, zeroing in on UK club sounds, with nods to UK hardcore, UK breaks, UK bass and jungle. Shades of electro, progressive house and dream house shape the record into a focused, forward-leaning club statement. The release finds a natural home on the imprint, placing Zimmer alongside some of the underground’s most respected talent, with previous releases from Danny Daze, Cygnus and Posthuman.
Produced through a hands-on, hardware-led process, Swamp Circuit channels Zimmer’s love of analogue workflow and live jam energy. Using Akai samplers, Prophet Rev2, Prophet ’08, EMU E6400, 808 and 707 drum machines, alongside fragments of old radio broadcasts and film noir recordings, the tracks began as loose, instinctive jams before being refined into structured, high impact club tools. The result is music that feels physical and unruly, pairing heavy-duty engineering with clarity, swing and punch. Across the EP, Zimmer focuses on structure and momentum, sequencing the record with a no-nonsense sense of flow.
