‘Syntax Error’ speaks in Ishii’s percussive dialect with hi-hats and snares that dart across sub-harmonic basslines and atmospheric pads, as synths perform sonic drive bys. Colombian live production outfit html_ explore rhythms and soundscapes that span electro and breaks through to Techno, offering a remix of ‘Syntax Error’ built from hypnotic loops, charged kick drums, and running synths.
As a leader in the Japanese electronic music scene, Ishii’s label 70 Drums offered an alternative sound that spanned the spectrum of Techno, allowing Ishii to experiment and push boundaries, with releases on RSPX, Cocoon, Sway, and more. An active DJ and producer since 1993, Ishii’s commitment and influence in the Techno scene have stretched across continents, with performances and collaborations worldwide. Ishii is now working on future collaborations with producers Masaki Sakamoto, Mickey Zhang, and David Catellani.
