What started as a voice memo in Ecuador has become Racket Club’s latest dance floor weapon. His new single “Craziest Thing” is out now via Subsolar Records. It’s a hypnotic Latin inspired house track packed with story, soul, and a touch of absurdity.
While traveling through South America three years ago, Racket Club made a new friend in Ecuador who kept saying “That’s so crazy. ” Inspired, he asked her to record a voice memo saying “That was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen” in both English and Spanish. That clip became the spark behind the song.
For the three months he was in South America, he worked on the track, building grooves and melodies that matched the energy around him. He was chasing something you might hear in a Jamie Jones or Martinez Brothers set. Something fun, infectious, and ready for the club. Driven by pulsing basslines, crisp drums, and retro inspired pads, “Craziest Thing” blends old school house textures with modern bounce. Midway through the track, a surprise story unfolds.
A surreal, stoned narrative about a human pickle adds an unexpected dose of character. “It’s kind of silly, but I wanted to create something that made people move and laugh. That’s my favorite kind of art. You don’t hear stories in music anymore. Especially dance music. So I brought it back to the old school.”
After sitting in the vault for a couple years, the track finally found its home when Joey from Subsolar Records heard it and signed it immediately.
