Unveiled amidst the immersive spectacle of Cercle Odyssey, the track reflects a meditative evolution in Kalkbrenner’s sonic journey—an ode to techno’s timeless pulse.
Following a landmark return after 7 years, with his latest album ‘The Essence’, Paul Kalkbrenner makes his highly anticipated debut on Cercle Records with his new single ‘Vier:Drei’.
Premiered during his Cercle Odyssey YouTube Live Show, the track captures the essence of Paul Kalbrenner’s signature sound, a refined blend of emotional depth and raw techno power. ‘Vier:Drei’ builds around a hypnotic, driving bassline, while airy, Balearic-tinged percussion and radiant synth layers inject a sense of euphoria.
Tried and tested across his recent global live shows, the track represents a new peak in Kalkbrenner’s constant evolution, balancing meditative introspection with dancefloor impact. With ‘Vier:Drei’, he reaffirms his status as a singular force in electronic music — uncompromising, innovative, and deeply resonant. This release marks not only a key moment in his own artistic journey, but also a landmark for Cercle Records.
Paul Kalkbrenner is a Berlin-born techno producer and live performer, active for over two decades. Emerging from the 1990s underground scene, he stood out early on by performing live sets made entirely of his own productions. His role in the film “Berlin Calling” and its soundtrack, especially ‘Sky & Sand’, marked a turning point in his career. Rejecting the traditional DJ format, he developed a singular relationship with the stage, defined by sonic precision and a strong physical presence. He has released eight albums, building a consistent body of work that blends electronic melancholy with rhythmic intensity.
He has performed on major stages, including Tomorrowland and the official ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. After a period with Columbia Records, he returned to an independent path in 2022. His ‘Back to the Future’ mixtape project revisits his rave roots and reflects his deep connection to techno’s history. Kalkbrenner embodies a personal vision of electronic music — one that bridges collective memory and intimate storytelling.
