Dutch house favourite Chris Stussy continues his Up The Stuss Scholarship initiative with Newcastle-based DJ and producer Lewis Taylor, delivering the second instalment of the mentorship-driven series. Following Pedro Borlado’s ‘First Light’ EP, Taylor’s ‘Reconnection’ showcases a rising UK talent guided by the label’s ethos of nurturing emerging producers, and is out now.
At just 24, Lewis Taylor has already made waves with his Party Trax series and releases on Trick, ec2a, Agrio Tracks, and Riviera Records. Across two tracks, ‘Reconnection’ balances classic house textures with forward-thinking energy: the title track pairs warm chords and skippy percussion with fluid basslines, while ‘I Wanted You To Know’ explores introspective, late-night atmospheres through shimmering pads and emotive melodies.
