I don’t chase, I create and let things find me” he says of his approach to music and life. ” he says of his approach to music. We sat down with Aksendo to talk about his new record, passions, and plans for the year ahead.
1. Hi Aksendo, and welcome to Music is 4 Lovers. How has your 2025 been so far?
Thank you! 2025 has been the beginning of what I feel is my true upcoming peak. It’s been a time of self-discovery, especially when it comes to my music – I’m realizing how much I can actually create and how many hidden qualities I have that people notice when I’m on stage. There’s something magical about sharing your energy through the music you’ve carefully chosen and created. Every set feels like a new chapter, and I love how I can blend my own productions into that. This year, I feel like I’ve truly found my voice.
2. You’re from Kaunas in Lithuania we understand, what can you tell us about your hometown and the music scene there?
I grew up in Kaunas, and I can confidently say Lithuania is not behind when it comes to nightlife culture. We have amazing festivals like Ant Bangos, Audra Festival, Anna Sutiko Neringa, Yaga Gathering, Midsummer Vilnius, and many others.
This past August I played at the Atradimai Festival, sharing the same stage with globally recognized DJs like Whitesquare and Kastis Torrau. The scene here is growing stronger every year – people are really open-minded and passionate about music, and it’s a great time to be part of it.
3. You have a new single dropping on the Stereo MC’s connected label. Tell us a little about the record and how you came to be releasing it via the label?
This track fully represents me — my good energy and my taste in music. I’ve always loved Latin-inspired elements; they make me visualize playing those kinds of tracks on a hot summer night somewhere on a beach in a warm country.
I actually got inspired to make this track after watching HUGEL and Bob Sinclar’s b2b opening at Hï Ibiza – the atmosphere they created was unreal. When the main drop hit, I literally got emotional. I wanted to capture that same kind of energy, so I focused a lot on building a strong buildup that lead to a big, satisfying climax.
After finishing the track, I put a lot of effort into finding the right label because I didn’t want to just release it under my own name. I spent weeks reaching out to labels and artists, and just when I was about to lose hope — connected got back to me. Over time we aligned perfectly, and now the track is set to be released with them. I’m really proud of this one, because this is officially my first release under any label.
4. What can you tell us about the decks&stories movement and your role in it?
Decks & Stories is a collective of friends who started a movement driven by the desire to break free from an average life. We don’t just want to live life – we want to create it.
We connect with people, build events, and craft stories through music that resonate worldwide. We tell these stories through Studio Sessions, Events, and Guest Mixes, and we’re always searching for creative souls to collaborate with.
I’m the CEO and Digital Tech Lead of the movement, responsible for IT, Marketing, and the overall vision of how we tell our stories both musically and visually.
5. Who are some of your favourite recording artists or DJs and why?
Definitely HUGEL and Aaron Sevilla. Their sound, full of energy and groove, perfectly captures the Latin-driven vibe I love to bring to the dance floor. Also, RÜFÜS DU SOL – their melodies have a depth that resonates with me on a personal level. They inspire me to blend emotion with rhythm in my own work and always push myself to dig deeper into the feelings behind the music. It’s about creating a moment, something you feel inside, and they do that so well.
6. When you’re not in the studio or performing, what are your personal passions and other interests?
When I’m not in the studio, I’m usually working – seven days a week! I plan, schedule, meet with clients, and work as a freelance programmer while also doing work for Decks & Stories. I rarely stop, but when the weekend comes and I finally get behind the decks, that’s when I truly rest. That’s where I recharge and feel fulfilled – performing gives me back all the energy I put into everything else.
7. What else do you have lined up for the year ahead?
We’re planning to head to Amsterdam for King’s Day (April 27), where we’ll play a few open-airs over several days. On our way back to Lithuania, we’ll stop in Berlin to throw another open-air event on May 1st, collaborating with Lithuanian DJs based there on a day when Berlin truly goes wild.
Besides that, I’m performing every weekend at private events as a freelance DJ with my own setup. But my main focus is on growing creatively and reaching more people through my music. I want to be seen and heard — my uniqueness gives me visibility, and through creativity, I’ll continue to express that even more.
