How has the year been treating you so far, both musically and personally?

This year so far has been overwhelming considering it’s the beginning of the year with back 2 back sets each weekend and working on new projects in the studio.

You came up through jungle, garage and early house – how do those foundations still shape the soulful, afro and amapiano sounds you’re known for today?

Those Foundations have shaped me due to being a part of the London Underground scene and seeing all the same elements and energy throughout the different genres.

From Wired for Sound Record shop in London to international dancefloors, what moments really stand out as key turning points in your journey?

There are loads of key moments in my Journey and working in the record shop was definitely a major turning point as I got to stay up to date and meet influential peers. From regular radio shows on pirate radio and being a resident at an Event called Red Carpet, to getting my tunes signed to Columbia Records. Doing an independent festival with 2 of my friends/peers just to name a few.

You’ve always had a strong connection to underground culture – what does “keeping it underground” mean to you in 2026? Is there such a thing anymore?

When it comes to keeping it underground there’s a thin line as now everything is online and used as content, but it’s the root and feel and there needs to be a balance. When keeping it underground and mainstream I feel you need to be involved in both sides.

As a label head with Housupa records what do you look for when backing new music or artists?

I look for what can fit in and work, in other words what I would play in my sets.

How does the energy differ when you play in different countries and does it change how you approach a set?

It definitely does differ but due to experience and knowing how to read the crowd plays a big part as I never plan a set.

Soulful house, afro and amapiano are all evolving fast – what excites you most about where these sounds are heading right now?

It excites me because I feel there’s a lot of good quality music coming out and more of a younger generation are embracing it.

You’ve recently rebuilt your studio and refocused on production, how has that influenced your creative process and sound?

When you have a set up you are comfortable in you want to spend more time there and keep the creative mind going and exploring new things.

With appearances coming up at Steelyard, Village Underground and City Splash, what can people expect from a Supa D set in this next chapter?

In my sets you’re always going to hear something new and full of energy but still take you on a musical journey.

Looking ahead, what’s coming up for you over the next year?

There are some major gigs coming up and then building my brand and taking it to the next level. Also I will have my EP/Album out with loads of credible artists so just watch this space 🙂
