Kicking off 2025 in style, Oliver has already made waves with a standout performance at Amazon Prime’s Sonic Journey event in Tulum. Now, with the launch of his new label Reve Music and a string of exciting releases on the horizon, he’s setting the stage for a massive year. We caught up with him to talk about his journey in the LA music scene, the ethos behind Reve Music, and what fans can expect from his latest single, Out Of Here.

Hey Oliver, great to chat with you! How are you and how has your 2025 started?

Thanks for having me! 2025’s been off to a great start. I kicked it off in Tulum, DJing for a really special Amazon Prime event called Sonic Journey. It was put together by my good friend and label partner Ariel Vromen, along with Monument Productions. The vibes were next level. Definitely a great way to set the tone for the rest of the year.

How has your journey in the LA music scene shaped your career as a DJ and producer?

The LA scene has been a huge influence. It’s a melting pot of different sounds, and that energy has shaped how I approach both DJing and production. There’s so much opportunity to collaborate and experiment here, and it’s kept me inspired. Being around a mix of cultures and talented artists definitely pushes you to stay fresh and evolve, which I believe is what it’s all about.

What motivated you to start your new label Reve Music, and what shall be the ethos of the label and sound?

It started with my good friend, Hollywood film director and DJ/Producer, Ariel Vromen bringing up the idea to me and Luciano Scalioni to create a label with no boundaries. The ethos is simple—deep, groovy house and techno music with emotion behind it that makes people dance. We want to give artists a space where they can express themselves and make tracks that hit hard on the dancefloor but also have that groovy vibe that sticks with you.

Who will you work with and how do you plan to A&R it? Will it be new upcoming names or established artists, or a mixture of both?

It’s definitely going to be a mix. We’re all about finding fresh talent with something to say, but at the same time, we want to work with artists who already have their own sound and are established in the scene. The idea is to create a diverse roster that brings different flavors while still staying true to the vibe of the label. A&R-wise, we’ll be very hands-on and running that department ourselves for now.

How does the first single “Out Of Here” represent the musical direction of your label?

“Out Of Here” has that deep, sexy and fun groove. It’s the kind of track that works in the club, a day party, or on a late-night drive. It’s got energy, but it’s got depth, too. I wanted to make a statement with the first release, and I think it sets the tone for one of the many different styles that will be coming on the label.

Who are some of the biggest influences on your sound, and how have they shaped your approach to deep house?

There are so many to name, but I’d say one of my biggest inspirations is Solomun because he doesn’t stick to the boundaries of one style and tells a story with his music. I love how he’s able to make and play tracks that move a crowd but also makes you feel something. That balance is something I strive for in my own work—music that makes you dance, while also making you forget to look at your phone.

You’ve been supported by big-name artists often in the past, how does that validation affect your work?

It’s always amazing to get support from artists you respect and I’m very thankful for the DJs who play my music, but at the same time, I’ve worked on myself to try not to be validation driven and to keep the main focus on how my music moves the crowd. As the saying goes: “The dance floor never lies”.

Your sets are known for high energy and versatility, do you translate that into your productions or are they different things?

I definitely carry that energy over into my productions. My DJ sets are all about versatility and keeping the crowd moving, and I try to bring that same vibe into the studio. I want my tracks to be dynamic and to have moments that surprise people. It’s all about maintaining that groovy energy, whether I’m behind the decks or in the studio.

How and why did you pick the remixers you did for this first release?

We chose remixers who we thought could take the track in a fresh direction while still keeping the essence of it intact. Each of them brings something different to the table, but they all have a deep understanding of groove and vibe, which is key. I’m really excited about the different interpretations they’ve brought to the table.

What do you have coming up next that we can look forward to?

There’s a lot on the way. I have an EP coming out on CamelPhat’s label WSA which I’m super excited about. Also, I have two peak-time collaborations with Vintage Culture that will be coming soon that I can’t wait to share with everyone. Many more tracks and collabs with other great artists will be released this year and I’ll be hitting the road for some big shows and parties around the world. So yes, it’s going to be a busy year, and I’m very excited for what’s to come!
