MESTIZA ignites 2026 with the release of their new single ‘Que Calor, Que Calor’, as the latest glimpse into their forthcoming second artist album Spanish Chica – which will release digitally and on vinyl, 10th April.
A slow-burning, percussive heater, ‘Que Calor, Que Calor’ captures the duo’s unmistakable signature featuring Latin grooves intertwined with commanding percussion and a brooding, magnetic atmosphere built for late-night dancefloors.
Carrying their unmistakable fusion of tradition and electronic avant-garde, the single threads hypnotic rhythm with emotional intensity. Flamenco-rooted textures rise through contemporary Afro house and melodic techno frameworks, while handclaps and rolling drums drive a pulse that feels both ancestral and futuristic. The result is a record that simmers with tension and release; immersive, ritualistic and undeniably powerful.
The single arrives amid a landmark year for the Spanish duo. This summer, MESTIZA made history as the first female artists to lead a full-season residency in the main room of Hï Ibiza, currently ranked the world’s number one club. Taking over Sundays in the iconic Theatre space, they will helm a 19-date residency from 31st May to 4th October – marking the first time a female headline act has held a summer-long residency in the venue’s main room. A defining cultural milestone for the island, it cements their position at the forefront of global electronic music.
The Ibiza announcement lands alongside another historic achievement: in April, MESTIZA will perform at Coachella, becoming the only Spanish female artists represented at the festival this year. Their debut at the Californian institution underscores the project’s growing international reach and cultural resonance.
After ten years as solo artists, the pair joined forces in 2021 to form MESTIZA, quickly forging a distinct sonic identity that bridges flamenco’s cultural heritage with the hypnotic energy of electronic production. Their sessions unfold as sensory journeys, where Afro house, melodic techno and Latin rhythms collide with the emotional charge of flamenco – transforming the dancefloor into a space of collective ritual and contemporary expression.
Their debut album ‘Quëreles’, released in December 2023, debuted at number 1 in Spain in its first week, establishing the duo as one of the most compelling new forces in electronic music. Featuring national and international collaborations, it set the foundations for a broader artistic universe where music, fashion, symbolism and visual storytelling coexist. Feminine strength, ancestral codes and immersive stage design remain at the heart of their identity – each performance conceived as a transformative experience beyond the traditional club format.
With their second album Spanish Chica scheduled for release, and a wave of global festival appearances and high-profile cultural moments unfolding across 2026, MESTIZA continue to expand their vision on an unprecedented scale. The heat is rising and ‘Que Calor, Que Calor’ signals the start of a defining new chapter.
