Both new tracks draw on a wide range of global influences
Sam and Itay, thanks for chatting to Music Is 4 Lovers; how’s your summer going so far?
Oh don’t even mention it! It is our pleasure we assure you, thank you for having us!
Our summer has been hectic so far in scheduling terms. See, we both attend a Sound Engineering College and we are at the end of our second year (out of three years total) so final exams are happening right now. Plus the added bonus of excitement and different preparations we had to do for our upcoming debut release with the wonderful ‘Connected’ label. But hey, overall – it’s been an amazing summer full of great vibes so far.
Tell us about how you met and what you’re hoping to achieve with KLOUDs.
So, as we mentioned in the answer for the first question – we’ve met at college being as we both signed up for the same course for sound engineering. But we started creating music together between the end of our first year to the beginning of our second. We’re really hoping to be able to spread as much music and love as we can. We really love all people and want to unite as much souls as possible. We’ve been dreaming above all to start playing shows overseas, especially when I (Sam) haven’t been abroad for about 9 years. It’s been a while!
Your debut EP, ‘Palm’, arrives next month via connected; how have you set yourselves apart in terms of style with this record?
Yes, yes indeed, we’re so excited about this debut release – we can’t even put it in words! Stereo Mc’s are a legendary assortment of musical talent and signing your debut EP with such a label is just ecstatic. We believe we set ourselves apart with the way we incorporate the Middle-Eastern aspect of our taste with the classic Afro-House feel, and of course – the BASS. See we both are big fans of bass, and we felt that the classic Afro-House producer doesn’t always feel the need to drop a bassline you’d hear as a integral part of their track and so the bass is being taken for granted at times – we strive to change that.
Overall, we have plans to produce Melodic Techno tracks, Suomi Trance, many different House genres, even Drum and Bass! No genre is out of play.
What’s the best thing about creating music as a duo?
Oh wow, where to start? We both believe that even though we’re supposed to have some individual music created, being as I (Sam) originally come from the Hip-Hop/Trap/Metal music scenes, while I (Itay) come from different types of Trance/Ambient/Downtempo/Metal music scenes. But, combining our two worlds all the while practicing every bit of techniques we learn from the Sound Engineering course we attend is probably the best thing about it. We see eye to eye on a whole range of opinions when it comes to music regardless of the 9 year gap between our ages (Itay is the younger one).
And we can’t forget of course how much more fun and easy it is to DJ different shows like that.
And last but not least – everything you do feels better when you get to do it with a good friend by your side, doesn’t it?
Afro House has seen an increase in popularity across several countries in recent years, why do you think this is?
That’s a good question. And we think the best answer is great marketing and a VERY loyal audience. It’s no secret that a lot of people are fans of all things Afro when it comes to music. Afro beat, Dancehall, Afro-House, Tribal and Organic House – all give you a great vibe that makes you want to dance. The best thing about it is that you don’t always have to use the same type of instruments, the arrangement sometimes is the key to make a good Afro-House or other Afro type genre track. Africa, as a tremendous piece of land knows best what the meaning of love and unity is – even through the toughest times, and love is always set to win, we believe it with all of our hearts.
Could you give us some of your favourite records of 2025?
Absolutely! So first – ‘Apocalypse’ by Fiddla. This track was released during the time we started having conversations with Connected regarding the Palm EP, and it is point blank the best representation of the Afro-House vibe we love so much!
Then theres ‘Crazy for it’ by Keinemusik with Boys Noize & Vinson. A classic Keinemusik joint. And an amazing one at that! But you can feel the collaboration between them and Boys Noize & Vinson and they gave the track that 2025 freshness!
Next up is a relatively new one and boy is it a VIBE. Shimza, AR/CO & Kasango – ‘Fire Fire’.
What an amazing communication of that Tribal, ancestral feeling we spoke about in the previous answers. One thing we can always say – you can never go wrong when Shimza’s involved. And the featuring artists give the track the required rocket fuel it needs to top the charts!
Next one is ‘Magic in the air’ by Francis Mercier, Magic System & Chawki.
Man does this track make us dance! It’s just one of those tracks to put you in a great mood you know? Very talented producers.
And last but not least is a dear friend of ours Kaybe with his track ‘My Haus’.
We’ve mentioned elsewhere that this is the track we’d see ourselves making an entrance at the club with. Just imagine yourself going out to the busiest most packed club in town and entering with this track on – all eyes on you. Makes you feel like you are an exclusive guest at a Sheikh’s party in the tallest skyscraper in Dubai.
How are you planning to celebrate the release of ‘Palm’?
Well, we come from a very small country where living in different cities is a common ordeal and we don’t live in the same city, plus it’s going to be a Friday, so maybe we’ll have a little Zoom meeting, kick back with a nice cold one, just being proud of each other.
For me (Sam) it’s been an 8-9 year journey to find out exactly what type of music suits me best in terms of production and when I met Itay and we started working together, my biggest mission was to try and save him as much time as I can in the same journey. We want to succeed together as much as we can, so that we one day will be able to try and provide the same opportunities for other people just like us who just want their art to he heard.
Do you have any upcoming plans in and outside of music you can share with us?
Well, we couldn’t say that there’s something very specific in plans, but our main goals right now are brushing up as much as possible on our DJing skills, we don’t have an easy access to DJ equipment but we will make it work no matter what. And the next goal is to release as much music as we can! We have a few tracks we feel are totally great and would love to see them meet the light of day. But only time and persistence will tell!
Another plan would be, granted we’d be given the opportunity, is to travel the world and play some shows, meet some people from all corners of the globe.
And lastly, finish our 3rd year in College, get our degrees and hopefully get a chance to live abroad for a while.
Thank you so much again for having us, it’s been such a pleasure!
