Contributing WriterSan Diego-born artist Kidislive releases ‘A Shot From The Heart’ EP on 8 Head Records, featuring a remix from Head Records label boss, Gerry Read, releasing on March 13th, 2026. Kidislive, a Long Island-born artist, has been exploring multi-genre electronic music for over 15 years, sporting releases on Mad Motel, 8 Head, and Distro Kid, and gaining support from Richie Hawtin, Oliver Heldens, Carl Craig, and more. DJ and producer Gerry Read, a leading figure in the electronic music scene, is known for his sweet, experimental tracks that blend House and Techno, and in recent years has collaborated with the likes of DJ Koze.
‘Shot From The Heart’ presents a four-track minimal Techno EP set against a dream-like landscape. The title track introduces the EP with a warm, inviting offering, as percussion and synths meet and fade between aired-out vocals. ‘Doomsday’ presents a deeper hypnotic tone, with the focus shifting to a commanding low-end bass, before ‘Ketamine Machine’ takes the listener on a journey through atmospheric pads and modular synths that build, stretch, and warp. Read’s remix of ‘Shot From The Heart’ closes the EP with fluency, offering a punchy house-infused refix that fuses the styles of the two artists.
