Contributing WriterDraumar (e.Dreams), is Hildur’s newest single from her upcoming debut album, Afturábak (e.Backwards). Hildur is an Icelandic award winning artist and producer that has gained a following for her catchy and thoughtful scandi-pop songs like Picture Perfect and I’ll Walk With You.
Her newest song Draumar, written and produced by Hildur, is a fragile memoir of her music journey, starting as a starry eyed teenager going to shows in Reykjavík with big dreams, to the push and pull of living out that dream but simultaneously feeling it slipping away.The dreamy soundscape of indie guitars and haunting vocals takes the listener on an emotional journey reminiscent of Mazzy Star, Phoebe Bridgers and Elliot Smith.
Hildur is a songwriter and producer from Iceland, known for her catchy melodies, honest lyrics and clever production. With her upcoming debut LP due at the end of November, she goes back to her indie roots, mixing them with electronic influences while still keeping her signature pop melodies, resulting in a heartfelt, raw and emotional soundscape reminiscent of Kate Bush and Christine and the Queens. After starting her music journey as a teenager in the indie band Rökkurró, as the singer/cellist and touring around Europe, she then took a U-turn into the world of pop. With the release of her first solo single “I’ll Walk With You,” she instantly hit the top of the Icelandic radio charts and received the Icelandic Music Award for pop song of the year, so her pop career started with a bang. Along with releasing 2 EPs, she started an international career of songwriting and producing for other artists. Hildur has also been known for using her platform to speak up and empower other female artists.
