Fundido is the New York based duo of Latane Hughes and Billy Scher, known for their parties celebrating balearic beat and classic rave sounds from around the world. From left-of-center grooves to playful funk, oddball edits to proto-techno, acid, and progressive, they are musical chameleons with a great sense of taste and unbound by rules or genre. The duo are residents at Good Room in Brooklyn and celebrate their 10-year anniversary next month.
Their analogue-sounding ‘Drops of Time’ is a thumping blend of cosmic energy and rugged arps, set to a taught bassline. The exotic-meets-erotic whispered vocal from NY-based Emma Dufaux adds a tender yet anthemic touch to the Juno synth joyride, accompanied by lush chords and acid textures that lift the dance floor. The piano mix is even more joyous and uplifting, as old-school pianos dance above the drums, while the instrumental versions of both mixes offer a more heads-down option for darker rooms.
Modern Art founder Cal-C is a Toronto-based DJ and producer who recently put out the highly celebrated ‘Bath Bomb’ EP on Bar Part Time Records. Cal switches things up with a dubby, downtempo rework that is vibrant in colour and features distant bird calls, new-age flutes, and a blissed-out comedown vibe. Rainforest Café Del Mar baby!
‘Drops of Time’ by Fundido feat. Emma Dufaux’s comes on Boyanza Records on 23rd January 2026.
