Emery Bex marked his Hottrax debut on November 7th with ‘Body Tension’ EP – three club-ready cuts built for the peak hours. Supported by Mau P, A-Trak, and East End Dubs, and many more, the release has quickly put him on the radar of house music’s elite.

We sat down with Emery to chat about the project, his relationship with Jamie Jones and the Hottrax label, and the art of building grooves that move a crowd.

You’ve just landed your first solo EP on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax. At this point in your journey, what does the ‘Body Tension’ release mean for you personally and professionally?
It is definitely a personal milestone for me, since releasing an EP on Jamie Jones’ label has been a dream goal from day one. From a professional point of view, working with such a label is a real pleasure because everything runs so smoothly — I really appreciate that. Musically, I can be quite versatile when producing; sometimes my tracks lean more toward a housier or tech-house direction with more percussion elements. With this EP, however, I wanted to show my more electronic side again rather than the techy one.

Jamie Jones has been supporting your music for a couple of years now. How has that kind of consistent backing influenced your mindset or shaped how you move as an artist?
Since the beginning of my journey, I was always looking for this kind of confirmation because, in the early days, I faced some challenges with labels declining my music, which made me question whether I was onto something or not. After Jamie started playing my tracks, I knew I was on the right path — if someone who receives thousands of promos every week chooses to play your music, that really means a lot. It gave me a big boost in confidence, and now I know that when I create something from my heart, I can be happy with the outcome.

This EP clearly has the club at its core. What’s your process for road-testing new music before you decide it’s ready to be released?
To be honest, I don’t do much road testing myself. Everything happens in the studio, usually after I hear the final master of a track. Once I feel that nothing needs to be added or changed — when I truly feel it — it’s ready to be sent out to a few DJs. They take care of the road testing part, and once they like it and want to move forward with a signing, I’m ready to discuss the next steps.

Both tracks on ‘Body Tension’ feel distinct in their own way. What did the idea development look like behind these two records?
While producing both tracks, I was heavily influenced by a set Jamie played at Amnesia in Ibiza. My goal was to create something purely for the dancefloor — especially with Body Tension. If you listen closely, you’ll notice the track has only what it needs to keep you moving; nothing more, nothing less. I tried to keep it very simple, and thankfully, it worked perfectly.

You’ve released on some serious labels already — Mood Child, LTF, and now Hottrax. How do you decide which music goes where?
Since I closely follow the labels I release on, I have a good sense of which track fits which label. But honestly, nothing is really planned. I have a small circle of DJ friends who receive my music, and most of the time I share tracks without any specific intention to get them signed. So far, I couldn’t be happier with how things have turned out.

When you’ve been playing these tracks out recently, what kind of reactions or energy have you been getting back from DJs and crowds?
The reactions have been really positive. No matter where I played them, people were vibing with both tracks and connecting to the groove.

And finally — what’s next for Emery Bex? Any upcoming releases, collaborations, or moments you can share?
I have another remix coming out this month on Under No Illusion for their 300th release — after that, I’ll be closing the year. Without revealing too much, I can say that I’ve already lined up some exciting collaborations with artists I really like, and there are also some releases scheduled for 2026 — so keep watching this space.
