MI4L – Congratulations on the release of “Breathe Again”! This track marks your debut as Anthym—what does this new identity signify for you as an artist?
ANTHYM – Thank you! Anthym is much more than just a new name—it’s a dream I’ve had for years. I’ve always envisioned my music playing at massive music festivals, with the kind of energy and emotion that makes a crowd feel united. That’s why I chose the name Anthym—it reflects my goal of creating music that feels like a festival anthem.
This is actually a rebrand from my previous project, Ysquar3, which I’ve worked on for over 12 years. Ysquar3 was more focused on Indian ethnic fusion with techno, which was an amazing chapter of my journey. But as I grew as an artist, my vision expanded. Anthym is the summation of everything I’ve learned, experienced, and grown into over the years including the mistakes I’ve made and learning from them.
It’s not just a music project—it’s a personal brand, an evolution, and a reflection of my maturity as an artist. When I started Ysquar3, I was just a kid exploring the world of music. Now, Anthym is about presenting my creative ideas on a global stage, expressing emotions in ways I couldn’t before, and reaching a worldwide audience with a more refined and mature voice.
MI4L – You’ve described “Breathe Again” as a rebirth of your artistic vision. What personal or creative transformations inspired this track?
ANTHYM – “‘Breathe Again’ is really special to me because it marks this incredible moment of transformation in my journey. You know how sometimes in life you reach a point where everything just clicks? That’s what this track represents for me. It’s not just about changing my artist name – it’s about embracing a whole new level of maturity in my approach to music and my artistic vision.
The track itself came from this powerful feeling of renewal. After spending over a decade producing as Ysquar3, which I started when I was quite young, I felt ready to evolve into something bigger. ‘Breathe Again’ captures that sensation of taking a fresh, deep breath and stepping into a new chapter. The title is quite literal in that sense – it’s about giving my creative ideas and musical voice new life.
For me, music isn’t just something I do – it’s as essential as breathing. Without it, I’d feel incomplete. So launching Anthym with this track feels like I’m not just breathing again artistically, but truly coming alive in a new form. The energy and emotions in the track reflect this rebirth, this feeling of emerging stronger and more focused than ever. It’s like I’m finally expressing myself exactly the way I’ve always wanted to.”
MI4L – Can you walk us through the creative process behind “Breathe Again”? How did the haunting vocals and melodic elements come together?
ANTHYM – Absolutely! The creative process behind “Breathe Again” was quite unique and actually spanned across multiple iterations of the track. It all started with a core idea that I explored in different directions. Some versions leaned heavily into old-school techno with those classic rave stabs, while others were more vocal-centric and deeply emotional. There were even versions that resonated with my earlier sound as Ysquar3, carrying a progressive house vibe.
Ultimately, this version of “Breathe Again” stood out because it captured the essence of what Anthym is all about—a perfect blend of energy and deep emotion. It had that festival-ready, anthemic quality that I envisioned for this new chapter of my music.
Interestingly, I produced this track during the initial stages of considering a rebrand. The idea of becoming Anthym was just starting to form in my mind, and that thought was with me every time I stepped into the studio. It was like creating the soundtrack to my own transformation—almost as if this track was guiding me toward the decision to fully embrace the rebrand.
“Breathe Again” became more than just a piece of music; it was the turning point where I started to feel confident about this new identity. Every element of the track, from the haunting vocals to the melodic build-ups, reflects that shift and the emotions that came with it. It’s truly the sound of a fresh start.
MI4L – Melodic techno often evokes deep emotions. What kind of journey do you hope listeners will experience when they hear this track?
ANTHYM – Melodic techno has this incredible ability to connect with people on a deep, emotional level, and with “Breathe Again,” I wanted to create a journey that feels both personal and transformative. For me, this track is about renewal and rediscovery, and I hope that’s what listeners feel when they hear it—a sense of introspection mixed with hope and energy.
The balance between energy and emotion in the track is intentional.
I imagine someone listening to “Breathe Again” during a quiet moment, where the vocals resonate with something unspoken inside them. Or maybe it’s playing on a festival stage, with the melodic build-ups creating that euphoric connection between the crowd and the music. Either way, I want the track to evoke a sense of release, like taking a deep breath after holding it in for too long.

MI4L – The Indian electronic music scene is growing rapidly. How do you see yourself contributing to this evolution, and what excites you most about the scene right now?
ANTHYM – It’s absolutely incredible to see how the electronic music scene in India has evolved! I remember when finding good music events felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. Now, we have this thriving community with artists pushing boundaries and audiences who are open to exploring new sounds.
What excites me most is how we’re developing a unique identity—a beautiful fusion of Indian elements with modern electronic production. I want to contribute by bringing something fresh to the table, proving that Indian artists can stand out on a global level while staying connected to our roots. The scene right now is such a melting pot of creativity, and being part of that evolution is genuinely thrilling.
MI4L – As an emerging artist, what challenges have you faced breaking into the electronic music space, and how have these experiences shaped your approach to production?
ANTHYM – Breaking into the electronic music space as an emerging artist has been both rewarding and challenging. One of the toughest parts is navigating the music business itself. It’s not just about creating great music—it’s about understanding how to market yourself, build relationships, and find the right opportunities to showcase your work. Balancing the creative side with the business side can be overwhelming at times, but it’s a crucial part of building a sustainable career.
In an industry that’s so competitive, standing out can feel like an uphill climb. There’s a constant pressure to keep up with trends and find ways to grab attention in a crowded space. I’ve learned to focus on creating music that’s authentic to me rather than chasing what’s popular. It’s also been important to network and connect with people who believe in my vision.
These experiences have shaped my approach to both production and the business side. On the production front, I’ve realized the value of crafting tracks that resonate emotionally and have their own unique identity. On the business side, I’ve learned the importance of patience, persistence, and understanding the platforms and channels that help my music reach the right audience. It’s a steep learning curve, but it’s all part of growing as an artist in this space.

MI4L – “Breathe Again” is released through Sanctum—how did this partnership come about, and what does working with the label mean to you?
ANTHYM – “Breathe Again” is released on Sanctum, which is my own imprint. Sanctum isn’t just a label—it’s part of a bigger vision to create a music ecosystem alongside Anthym. Together, they form a foundation for something I believe can grow into a groundbreaking platform in the future.
Sanctum is designed to be a space that nurtures creativity and individuality, not just for my music but for upcoming artists who share a passion for melodic and emotionally resonant electronic music. Releasing “Breathe Again” through Sanctum felt like a natural choice because it perfectly represents the energy and emotion that both Anthym and the label stand for.
For me, this isn’t just about building a career—it’s about creating a community and a platform that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in electronic music. I’m excited to see how Sanctum and Anthym evolve together and continue to shape this vision.
MI4L – What can fans expect from you next? Are there any upcoming releases, collaborations, or live performances on the horizon?
ANTHYM – Fans can expect a lot of exciting things coming up! I recently launched a live performance video on Anthym’s YouTube channel, and it’s filled with brand-new, unreleased music. It’s a glimpse into the sound and energy I’m bringing to this project, so I’d highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.
I’ve got a bunch of tracks in the pipeline that I think really showcase the evolution of my sound. There are some really interesting collaborations in the works too – can’t spill all the beans yet, but let’s just say they’re going to surprise people!
On top of that, I’ve got some merchandise available now through my website, www.anthymmusic.com. It’s another way for fans to connect with the project and be part of this journey.
There’s so much more to come—new music, collaborations, performances, and creative projects. This is just the start, and I’m excited for everyone to be part of what’s next!
MI4L – What are your long-term goals as an artist? How do you envision Anthym evolving in the coming years?
ANTHYM – Looking ahead, I envision Anthym becoming much more than just a music project—it’s about creating unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s through my music, immersive live performances, curations or other forms of artistic expression, I want Anthym to resonate with people on a deep, emotional level.
My goal is to keep pushing creative boundaries and experimenting with new sounds that challenge both myself and the listeners. I also dream of evolving Sanctum into a platform to support emerging artists, giving them opportunities to break through and share their own unique voices with the world.
I’m dreaming big—playing on international festival stages, collaborating with artists I’ve always admired, and crafting music that leaves a lasting mark on the electronic music scene. For me, it’s all about creating something timeless that inspires and connects with people for years to come.
MI4L – Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring producers looking to make their mark in the electronic music industry?
ANTHYM – The biggest piece of advice I’d give is to stay true to your artistic vision while being patient with the process. This industry can be tough, and it’s easy to get discouraged when things don’t happen as quickly as you’d like. Focus on developing your unique sound rather than chasing trends. Network genuinely – build real relationships rather than just trying to ‘get ahead.’ And most importantly, never stop learning and experimenting. Some of my best tracks came from moments when I was just playing around in the studio with no expectations. Oh, and invest time in understanding the business side of music – it’s just as important as the creative side!
