Summer’s heating up and with it comes the hot numbers designed squarely for the season’s outdoor events… case in point, this new EP courtesy of Dino Soccio’s, Pleasure Of Love label. For it’s sophomore release in the aptly titled, “Pleasure Of Edits” series, the LA based Dino has tapped Barcelona’s, Pau Roca, to handle the sonic duties. With three cuts getting a 12″ treatment, we’ll hone in on the B-side cut, “True,” which hogs up the entire side of the slab.
An extended, afro-tinged disco break charges out the gate and slowly layers percussion…a perfect DJ intro if there ever was one. Soulful vocal chants creep in along with jangling guitar chirps and sustained, swelling chords as we dive headlong into looped Wurlitzer key riffs and an irresistible groove…it’s truly one funky jam!
