The album takes a nostalgic turn with the title track ‘Has to be Love’ journeying into eighties tinged electro territory with its drums and soaring synths playing host to the heavily effected vocals. The boys take it back down for ‘Be Free’ with a slower soulful sexy lil gem. The album culminates with the simply beautiful reinterpretation of ‘Has to be Love by Crosstown Rebels ARTist Amirali … true to his style, the record is reimagined as a sonic soundscape existing on the outer reaches of our consciousness.
Overall, Andrew Grant & Lomez, with the addition of Amirali, have created a truly beautiful album. Entrancing, captivating, elevating, and my favorite essence of ethereal … it has soul baby. Add it to the list, My Favorite Robot continues to bless us with only the best.
