Carlo Lio is known for his emotive, cosmic house and techno sounds; his ubiquitous appeal has captured the hearts of house music fans, with the innate gift of brilliantly translating this raw energy to the dance floors. His latest EP, Runnin, is no exception.

Amidst running his Rawthentic label and On Edge Society imprint, in addition to releasing on hot labels such as Dubfire’s SCI + TEC, Coyu’s Suara and Carl Cox’s Intec, the man has certainly been making moves. For his latest release, he joins the ranks of No. 19 Music’s impressive roster of talent.  As lifelong friends of label-boss Jonny White, it was only natural that the Toronto-based artist would release on No.19. Coming up together in the Toronto club scene, as well as putting on several events over the years, this debut release on the imprint proves to be a profound moment for both the artist and the label.

The four-track release contains three brilliant originals, as well as a fresh remix. The title track, “Runnin”, boasts some magnificently driving bass, powerful drums and vibrant synth stabs infused with hypnotizing vocals. “What They Say” takes you to a darker, moodier realm, with lingering chords and classic vocal samples permeating throughout.  Lio goes all out with “Don’t Let Me Go”; his intoxicating sound is present through throbbing bass, spellbinding vocals and mesmerizing breakdowns.  Jonny White and Nitin have their hand at a delightful remix, giving a lovely spacious feel to “What They Say”. The entire EP will make you spiral into a wonderful musically-induced frenzy.
